I don’t know about you, but I love seeing photos of my friends’ kids holding their first day of school sign. It’s fun to compare these photos each year I made these printable first day of school signs that you can easily print and use as your first day of school photo props.

For years, we have used a small (old) chalkboard, and I handwrote everything, which was not very pretty. I wish that I had created these first day of school signs years ago, because these are so much better than my old chalkboard. I wanted to make something simple but colorful, so I added some colorful pencils along the bottom.

I’ve created a 1st Day of School sign for each grades (Pre-K – 12th Grade) I’ve also included a few different options for Preschool and Pre-K since both terms are used. This year, I added a new First Day of Daycare sign as well.

First Day of Preschool Sign

Below are 3 different 1st day of preschool signs you will receive in your file. Because some schools call it preschool and others call it Pre-K I thought I would offer a few different options.

First Day of Kindergarten Sign

Below are the two different Kindergarten first day signs that you will get in your file. Some families might like the larger font – even if it’s on two lines.

Elementary School Signs (1st–5th grade)

Middle School Signs (6th–8th grade)

High School Signs (9th–12th grade)

Yes, I even made signs for high schoolers. I included 4 bonus signs with “Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior” on them. Because what’s more fun than making your teenagers take these silly First Day of School photos?

Taking a picture on your senior’s last, first day of high school makes a great keepsake.
