I don’t know about you but I love seeing photos of my friend’s kids holding their first day of school signs. I love seeing their cute smiles and it’s always fun to compare these photos year-to-year. I made these free printable first day of school signs that you can easily print and use at home.
For years we have used a small (old) chalkboard and I handwrite everything, which is not very pretty. I wish that I created these first day of school signs years ago, because these are so much better than my old chalkboard. I wanted to make something simple but colorful so I added some colorful pencils along the bottom.
I’ve created a First Day of School sign for all grades (Pre-K – 12th Grade) I’ve also included a few different options for Preschool and Pre-K since both terms are used.
I would recommend printing these on cardstock or printing it out and putting it into a lightweight frame like this one.

Printable First Day of School Signs for High School Students
Yes, I even made signs for high schoolers. I included 4 bonus signs with “Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior” on them. Because there is nothing more fun than making your teenagers take these silly First Day of School photos.
They just love it, right!?
