I don’t know about you, but I love seeing photos of my friends’ kids holding their first day of school sign. It’s fun to compare these photos each year I made these printable first day of school signs that you can easily print and use as your first day of school photo props.
For years, we have used a small (old) chalkboard, and I handwrote everything, which was not very pretty. I wish that I had created these first day of school signs years ago, because these are so much better than my old chalkboard. I wanted to make something simple but colorful, so I added some colorful pencils along the bottom.
I’ve created a 1st Day of School sign for each grades (Pre-K – 12th Grade) I’ve also included a few different options for Preschool and Pre-K since both terms are used. This year, I added a new First Day of Daycare sign as well.

Below are 3 different first day of preschool signs you will receive in your file. Because some schools call it preschool and others call it Pre-K I thought I would offer a few different options.

Yes, I even made signs for high schoolers. I included 4 bonus signs with “Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior” on them. Because what’s more fun than making your teenagers take these silly First Day of School photos?
Taking a picture on your senior’s last, first day of high school makes a great keepsake.

I would recommend printing these on cardstock or printing them out and putting them into a lightweight frame like this one.
