Find the perfect gift to give someone who loves to travel. Whether you’re looking for a gift for someone who travels for work or fun you’ll find lots of great travel gadgets, tools, and accessories to make travel easier, more comfortable, and fun!
I’ve been traveling most of my adult life, quick flights to Florida, road trips up and down the East Coast and longer overseas trips. I love it and I also love buying gifts which makes me a pretty good candidate to put together this gift guide. I hope you find something you (or your gift recipient) will love!
Tie Travel Case
These cases are really great if you’re buying for someone who travels for work. Unlike other tie cases this one will avoid any creases since you are rolling and not folding the ties.
Portable White Noise Machine
If you are a light sleeper or have children who might benefit from a noise machine for bedtime, this one is great for travel. It’s small and compact has several different sounds and timers.
Noise-Canceling Wireless Headphones
While I’m a huge fan of my AirPods, I really prefer noise cancelling over-ear headphones for travel. They are super comfortable, easy to sleep in, and they really do keep out the outside noise.
Leather Hanging Toiletry Bag
This is a beautiful and practical toiletry bag that would make a great gift. While I love my go-to toiletry bag (See above) my husband would be happy to carry and use this leather option.
Travel Perfume Atomizer Bottle
These little bottles allow you to bring along several sprays of your favorite perfume or cologne without bringing the whole bottle. It’s a great stocking stuffer idea!
Toiletry Bottles – TSA Approved
Hard Baseball Cap Holder
When we go to Disney my husband usually brings a good size collection of baseball caps and this case is perfect to keep them from being crushed in his luggage.
Jewelry Organizer for Travel
Having a small storage case for travel is super helpful for keeping your jewelry safe and organized. This one holds plenty of earrings, has pockets for smaller items, and has special storage for necklaces that keep them from getting tangled as you travel.
Folding Portable Wireless Charger
Wireless travel chargers are super handy and compact. I like this one because it uses less space and has a better price-point. You can wirelessly charge your phone, earphones and watch all in this one compact unit.
My Favorite Toiletry Bag
I’ve been using (and loving!) this toiletry bag for years now. It holds everything our family needs for a week’s vacation. We put our shower items, toothbrushes, deodorants, and sunblock, and we even use one pouch for some first aid supplies. I love that it hangs up so we can hang it on the back of the door or on the towel rack and everyone can easily access the items.
Passport Holder
These not only protect your passport but also hold your id and credit cards so you can use it as a wallet when you travel. It’s also easier to find your passport in your bag when it’s in a special cover.
Leakproof Silicone Covers for Bottles
These bottle covers are great if you plan on traveling with your own bottles and don’t want to have to pour everything into smaller travel bottles. They hold on the lids and seal everything so you don’t have any spills.
Hand Sanitizer
Touchland sanitizers are very popular right now and there’s a good reason, They are compact and super easy to store in a purse or backpack. While Touchland is popular (please avoid the rose scent… trust me!) this other brand Noshinku has great reviews and might have better scents to choose from.
Luggage Scale
This might seem basic but it’s a must-have!
Silicone Makeup Brush Case
If you travel with makeup brushes you’ll love this case it keeps your brushes clean and keeps the bristles from being crushed
Travel Backpacks
These backpacks are perfect to use as a carry on – they can both hold enough clothes for a weekend away or longer! They have tons of storage! I use a higher-quality bag from a company called Knack. They have incredible storage and are made so well! Knack bags are an excellent option if you are looking for a more luxury brand, however, these two backpack options are more affordable and have great reviews!
Grey Backpack – (above left)This backpack comes with some extras like a shoe bag and three packing cubes. It also has a built-in charging port that you can use with your portable charger.
Off white backpack (above right) This bag has lots of storage and is super lightweight. I love that it has a back pocket that is super secure when you’re traveling.
Travel Makeup Mirror with LED Lights
I love my travel LED light – it is so nice to have because yo never know what the lighting will be like in a hotel room or airbnb.
Makeup Bag
Using a clear makeup bag can be really helpful when traveling so you can see everything you have and easily find what you need.
A Really Good Windproof Umbrella
Having a quality umbrella when you are traveling is key! There is nothing worse than running through a parking lot in the rain with your luggage and having your umbrella break. (ask me how I know.) It’s not fun. This umbrella has an excellent lifetime replacement warranty.
Travel Cord Organizer
When we travel we have lots of electronics from our phones to my camera gear, it’s nice to have one place to keep all of the cords organized. I like how this one has lots of flexible storage for anthing you need: cords, outlet bricks, batteries, memory cards, an external hard drive, or portable charger.
Travel Blanket/Pillow
I am always cold on airplanes and bringing a blanket can be a pain if it’s too bulky. This blanket is small, super portable but still comfy and warm! Perfect for flights, long car rides and even the movies! ( I love brining a blanket to the movie theater!)
Portable Travel Clothing Steamer
One down side to packing in luggage is wrinkly clothing! I really don’t enjoy ironing and I’ve found that steaming clothing is just so much faster. I was happy to find this smaller travel steamer to bring. Reviews are really good and it is small enough to pack but still does a good job steaming clothing.
Hardsided Luggage
We have really fallen in love with hard-sided luggage this year. It has helped to protect some more fragile items when we travel and it is easier to spot when you’re waiting at baggage pickup.
Sleep Eye Masks
These eye masks are great for travel as well as everyday use. It’s contoured so it doesn’t smoosh your eyes, which is really nice. This one in particular blocks out 100% of the light so you can catch up on your sleep.
Foldable Travel Electric Kettle
Electrical kettles are so versitile especially when you’re traveling. Make a cup of tea or instant coffee, make soup, instant oatmeal and a variety of other things, which can save you money while traveling!
Clip On Phone Holder for Flight
We fly Southwest 99% of the time if we can. We love the prices, the service and the reliability. We do not love that there are no screens for watching movies during the flight. When we found these clip-on phone holders we were thrilled. They are not only great for flights but you can also clip them onto a table, your luggage, and many other spaces. It also works as a phone stand. This would make a great stocking stuffer or white elephant gift too!
Air Tags
I think AirTags are a must-have for everyone – whether you travel or not! They have been so helpful. We have one in each of our checked luggage pieces (we put it in the liner so it isn’t easily spotted). I can see when our bags make it to the right airport and where they are when we’re waiting to find them at baggage pickup. I also keep one hidden in my laptop backpack in case I ever misplace it.
Shoe Bags
I use these shoe bags for more than just shoes. I store all of our rain gear for Disney (4 ponchos + 2 umbrellas) in one of them. I use one to put any souvineres or keepsakes from our trip too. they can be used for an extra outfit, swim gear, and so many other things.
Compression Packing Cubes
We have been using packing cubes since our move overseas in 2013 and we haven’t looked back. This year I’m upgrading to these compression packing cubes to save even more space. I love how organized the cubes keep our clothes and how much room it saves in our luggage! I really like this Bagail brand!
Sunglass Holder for Travel
This sunglass (or eyeglass) holder would be another great gift! It holds 5 sunglasses and keeps them safe and secure when traveling. It can also be hung up on a hanger for easy access when you get to your destination.
Safety Alarm
This is in my Amazon cart right now. We have a new teen driver and having a safety alarm is super important. Pepper spray is not permitted in your carry-on bag or purse so having this alarm is a great option.
Our favorite Travel Neck Pillows
For years we’ve lived without neck pillows. We’ve taken numerous road trips as well as flights and finally took the plunge. I am so happy we did! The contoured neck pillow is truly comfortable and rolls up into a small storage bag making it easy to bring along. This set includes an eye mask and earplugs too.
