Over the years, Stitch Fix has become one of my favorite ways to shop for quality clothes that actually fit my lifestyle (and my curves). I ordered my first fix back in 2018 and have received some of my best wardrobe staples from Stitch Fix. They always seem to fit better than anything I find in stores, and I love that my stylist always introduces me to new pieces I might not have picked out on my own, and shows me how to style them together.
I’m not great at mixing and matching outfit colors and styles, but each fix I’ve received has included outfit ideas that I would have never put together on my own. Along with great wardrobe staples, Stitch Fix has taught me new styling tricks that make it easier to pull together outfits I wouldn’t have thought of on my own.

I’ve been especially impressed with the fit and quality of the jeans that I’ve received from Stitch Fix over the years. Somehow, as if by magic, they fit great nearly every time!
Another category Stitch Fix has nailed for me is cardigans. I may have a slight addiction to cardigans (I had over 15 in my closet at one point!), they are just so cozy and versatile. I still have several cardigans from my first few Fixes, and they have held up beautifully.
Unfortunately, (or fortunately for me) most, if not all, of my nice cardigans from Stitch Fix are now too large. While this is great news for my health, it’s not great news for my wardrobe. Since my sizing has changed, I need clothes that are just as versatile but fit me a little better.
It’s been a while since I’ve placed an order with Stitch Fix, so I’m treating myself to try a new Fix this month as a birthday gift to myself. This time around, I’m planning to focus on several quality basic items, like jeans, tops, and cardigans that can be mixed and matched into countless outfits. Having new staples feels like the perfect way to rebuild my wardrobe with pieces I can mix and match and wear on repeat.
You may be wondering how this works, and how the Stitch Fix Math adds up…

Fewer Pieces, More Outfit Options
With Stitch Fix, I’ve learned that I can have fewer items in my wardrobe, but still have plenty of options when I mix and match those items. Instead of stuffing my drawers with random tops and jeans that don’t really go together, Stitch Fix helps me build a wardrobe where each piece works with the others. That one cardigan they send? It might work with three different tops and two dresses, which means that one new item has created several new looks! My stylist has even sent items that work great with items I’ve received in a previous Fix, giving me even more outfit options.
Closet Multipliers – Stretching staples throughout multiple seasons
These are the pieces that pull double (or triple) duty. A lightweight cardigan works great over a dress in the spring, then layers under a coat with a coordinating scarf in the winter. The cuffed jeans that feel perfect with a pair of strappy sandals in the summer can also be tucked into boots when the weather gets cooler. Add tights and a jean jacket to the dress you wore to a wedding last summer, and you have a whole new look for fall. These kinds of staples make it easy to get more mileage out of fewer clothes.
Less Time Shopping Around and Free Try-ons!
I dread running around from store to store, roaming the aisles, then loading a cart full of random items into a small dressing room.
With Stitch Fix, my items come right to my door, and then I have time to try on my new items from my own home. All that running and trying to find the right style or size can be exhausting! My stylist already knows the brands they are working with, and they make suggestions that are hand-picked just for me, my body type, and my style. I can take my time deciding what I want to keep, and even try the new items on with clothes I already have in my wardrobe, that’s something I can’t do in the changing room at my local mall!
No Subscription – No Commitment Necessary
I have commitment issues… when it comes to subscription services, which is another reason I like the way Stitch Fix works. I order a Fix when I want one, no subscription necessary. When I want to receive a new box each month, I can schedule that too. It is nice to have control over how often I receive a new Fix!
How Stitch Fix Works
Once you sign up, you will take a quick style quiz where you share your size, fit, and budget preferences. From there, a Stitch Fix stylist hand-picks five pieces just for you. Your Fix arrives right at your doorstep, and you can try everything on at home. Keep what you love, send back what doesn’t work in the prepaid envelope, and leave feedback so your stylist keeps learning your style.
Shipping and returns are always free.
I love how Stitch Fix makes building a wardrobe feel less overwhelming. I don’t need to spend hours scrolling online or wandering store aisles. My Fix comes with custom options that my stylist hand-picked, and somehow they fit great!
