Prepare for Christmas Now – Mark Your Calendars

Welcome to the first day of our Prepare for Christmas NOW series.  I know, I know it’s just October but if we start now our December is going to be great! So let’s get started… right now!

December sure know’s how to keep a full calendar.  Don’t let the crazy season take away the joy of the season. Time time NOW to  sit down with your spouse and your calendars.  Talk about your holiday plans.  Make a few phone calls to your extended family, close friends and check the church calendar.  Think through what events or parties you really want to attend as a family.

Write a List:

  • Family dinners
  • Work parties
  • Holiday travel plans
  • Local Holiday events
  • School performances
  • Charity work
  • House guests

Leave some “down days” – days to just be at home as a family.

Be sure to leave a few days each week unscheduled.  You’ll thank me later!  Mark them with an “X” and do not schedule anything on these days.   I know it’s hard to say “no” to a great dinner party, concert or ugly sweater party but try your best. You do NOT have to say yes to every invitation.

Share your calendar

Fill out your calendar and be sure to post it somewhere your whole family can see it.  Share it on Google Calendar so everyone can stay up to date with what’s going on.
