July Favorites

Sharing is caring!

Summer is flying by and we’ve been trying to make the best of this very weird year. This month we didn’t do any traveling although we did have a visit from my family, which was THE highlight of the month. It was so nice to be back together.

I’m sharing some of my favorite things from July. I hope you find something new to try or a helpful tip you needed…

Lattes with Oatmilk

I’ve been slowly getting back into eating more whole foods and I’ve been trying a more plant-based diet this month. One of the first steps I took was to eliminate eggs and dairy from my diet. I found Choibani Vanilla Oatmilk and fell in love (yes, it has sugar in it, I’m hoping to try an unsweetened option soon!). This oat milk froths up perfectly in my Nespresso Milk Frother. Because it is sweetened, I don’t have to add any sweetener – it is DELICIOUS! Trust me!

Laptop Backpack

While I’ve been working mostly from home, I did head out this month and worked at a coffee shop for a few hours. I’ve tried many laptop bags and this backpack has become one of my favorites. Because of my back injury, I needed something that didn’t put a strain on my back and oddly enough a backpack was the best option. Putting a bag on my shoulder can really cause me back pain because I’m not carrying the weight evenly. This backpack was affordable and is still has a professional look.

Percy Jackson Series (for kids)

Our son is not a very motivated reader (unlike our daughter who could read for days!) Because we require reading daily for our kids to have screen time, our 11-year-old needed to find a book series to read this summer. He has already FINISHED the Percy Jackson Series in just a few weeks! He now looks forward to reading every day!

From Amazon: “Percy Jackson is a good kid, but he can’t seem to focus on his schoolwork or control his temper. And lately, being away at boarding school is only getting worse-Percy could have sworn his pre-algebra teacher turned into a monster and tried to kill him. When Percy’s mom finds out, she knows it’s time that he knew the truth about where he came from, and that he go to the one place he’ll be safe. She sends Percy to Camp Half Blood, a summer camp for demigods (on Long Island), where he learns that the father he never knew is Poseidon, God of the Sea. Soon a mystery unfolds and together with his friends — one a satyr and the other the demigod daughter of Athena — Percy sets out on a quest across the United States to reach the gates of the Underworld (located in a recording studio in Hollywood) and prevent a catastrophic war between the gods.

The Ordinary Skincare

I’ve been looking for some less expensive skincare products and found The Ordinary. My favorite product is the “Buffet“.

From Amazon: “Combining a number of highly concentrated peptides together with amino and hyaluronic acids for a powerful all-in-one anti-aging treatment, this lightweight serum visibly targets surface hydration, fine lines, wrinkles, dynamic lines, and textural irregularities.

It’s basically a nice all-in-one serum that I adore! If you’re looking for a simple, inexpensive skincare line to start with, check out The Ordinary.

I use the “Buffet” in the mornings when I have less time to fuss over my skincare. At night I use several steps including, Hydrolonic Acid, Retionol, Vitamin C, and Rose Hip Oil.

New Cutlery Organizer

This month I reorganized our silverware drawer and we are really enjoying how tidy things are. I fell in love with this new cutlery organizer – it is a huge space saver! You can read the blog post and see all of the details here.

New in the Shop

I’ve just added Printable 2020-2021 Academic Calendars to the ETSY shop. While school might be looking a bit different for this year, I know that many of us will want to get a jump start on planning and organizing.

Until next month! I hope you found something new and helpful in this favorites list. Let me know in the comments below what you’ve been loving lately!
