Strawberries that is!
Every day I go out to the garden and everyday I come in what a big bowl or two full of strawberries! I’ve made about 25 pints of jam already (none of which look quite the same as the jam my mom made, which makes me worry). The berry patch is probably on it’s last week of bearing fruit but that means 7-10 more big bowls of fruit to deal with!
We enjoyed a delicious Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble (wheat free substitutes used) this past week. I wonder if my husband even had any… well I can tell you that it was delicious and I hope to make more soon! I’ve also had many friends come by to pick their share of berries, which helped with some of the berry-burden.
I’m hoping to find some other ways to preserve these beautiful red blessings! So I’m asking for your help again! Share your favorite way to eat strawberries, if you know of a great way to preserve berries please let me know. I’m hoping to do more canning then freezing because our freezer is filling up fast, but I’d love to hear all of your ideas.
