Getting Things Done – The Outdoor Edition

Sharing is caring!

We enjoyed a beautiful weekend! We were motivated to get a lot done in with the garden. As i mentioned in an earlier post we decided to plant 3 raised beds for squarefoot gardening. We had set up our first bed with a mixture of compost manure and soil from the existing garden. For the other beds we decided to follow the “rules” and do a mixture of 1/3 compost 1/3 peat moss and 1/3 vermiculite.

(don’t let this picture fool you, I did my share of work too. Although I would have loved to just spend the day running around with the camera!

Here is how it looks when we got everything set up. I think that the correct mixture of compost, peat moss and vermiculite will make a difference! We also set up a trellis for our green beans and sugar snap peas.

We were able to plant some Romaine Lettuce, Buttercrunch Lettuce and Broccoli plants that we picked up at the nursery as well as some broccoli seedlings that we started inside.

See those tiny tiny little seedlings, no not those great looking larger plants… look really hard… yep those!

Those are the seedlings that we started a few weeks ago… we’ll have to wait to see how they do!

Kevin also got to mowed the yard for the first time. For some reason he just loves to mow, really, really loves it!

I can’t say I love to mow…

I love the warm sun,

I love the green grass,

I love the small of freshly cut grass,

and I especially love enjoying all of these things from the comfort of this…

my $10 yardsale found hammock has finally found her home.

I hope you all enjoy this weekend and the beautiful weather we’ll be having here in PA!

Happy Spring!
