Happy New Year friends!!
Am I the only one who is ready for this new year? I am ready for a clean slate and excited to see what this new year holds for our family. 2011 seemed to pick up momentum as it went along – getting more and more busy as time went by. While life got busy it also started to get a bit out of control. Home, Kids, Marriage, Work, Meal Planning, Cleaning…. you get the idea. I’m determined to get back on track this year. I even started the new year off by doing some major decluttering in my office. I’ve got a long way to go but I feel like things are moving in the right direction.
Have you noticed a lot of bloggers talking about picking a “word for the year”. I remember hearing something about this last year but didn’t jump on the band wagon (or maybe I did… either way I definitely didn’t take it very seriously!) Well this year I’ve decided to choose a word to use as a guide & to inspire me during 2012. I’ll keep the word in front of me as a reminder, I’m even starting a Pinterest board to encourage me. This year my word is:
What FOCUS means:
For My Family: Keeping my family a priority. I will try to completely focus on what they are saying, asking or doing when talking to me. We will make family time a priority in 2012.
For My Marriage: I will be more attentive to my husband, his needs, his feelings and his ideas. Doing little things to bless him each day.
For My Children: Taking time to focus on their needs. Reading more with them. Playing. Listening to their made-up stories, songs and knock-knock jokes. I mean really focus, not listen while typing an e-mail, or nodding and smiling without truly hearing what they are saying.
For My Faith: In 2012 I’ll be focusing on finding that “sweet-spot” again. Spending time reading, worshiping and praying.
For My Business: This year my business has been booming! I adore each of my clients and want to give them top-notch service. This year I hope to focus in on each client an find new ways to help their business/ministry. Giving each and every client the personal attention they can’t find anywhere else!
You cannot depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus. – Mark Twain
What’s your word for 2012 and why? I’d love to hear what word you’ve chosen to motivate and encourage you this year!
