A few years ago “staycation” became kind of a fad. A great idea too. To plan your vacation by staying home and enjoying local entertainment, dining and visiting places of interest and finding new things to do locally.
We love to take day trips all around our area. I will be featuring our day trips here on Hey Donna. Today we’re taking a little trip down to Philly to visit Terrain at Styers.
There are so many great attractions in our area. Not only do we live in a tourist area, but Philadelphia is just an hour drive. There should never be “nothing to do”. We try to take little day trips every now and then and visit somewhere new. This summer we took a day trip down to Philadelphia to visit our favorite Cafe, drop my brother off at the airport and visit one place that has been on our to-do list for about a year.

Terrain transforms the local garden center into a celebration of nature. Our flagship location in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania was inspired by the idea of merging house and garden to create an experience for the senses, catering to our customer with a curated assortment of plants for all seasons, as well as inspired items for the home and garden. Situated in a luxurious indoor-outdoor environment, our on-site nursery is flanked by a cafe and garden terrace, providing the ideal environment to host events and workshops.
Terrain at Styers is located in Glen Mills, PA. When we arrived we were surprised by it’s location because from the road it doesn’t look like much.the very second we stepped out of our car we knew it was going to be better than we could have expected!
I have wanted a collection of Weck jars for a few years and when I saw this display
The displays at Terrain are beautiful and inspiring. I came home with lots of great ideas.
The Cafe at Terrain was lovely. The friendly barista Andrew was more than happy to pose for a quick picture.
Terrain also offers classes and holds other great events. I’m sure we will take another trip down to Terrain, there was just so much to see in just one visit. If you don’t live near Philly but you want to check out Terrain you can shop online.
Do you take day trips? Are there any other great places in the Philly area that I should check out? Let me know I’d love to plan another day trip to check it out.

Hey Donna! Love the new look of your site! I haven’t been here in a while. I’ll have to be sure to keep checking it out. Love the photography from your staycation!

Thanks Court! It’s fun and that’s what I was going for! I’m glad you popped back in for a visit!

Have you guys done the Mercer Museum, House and pottery in Doylestown Donna? We just did it as a day trip a few weeks ago. There are a lot of stairs but I think the kids would do fine. Plan it for a cool day though because the building aren’t air conditioned.. probably not a great idea on a frigid day either.

I’ve never heard of the Mercer Museum. I’ll look it up and add it to our list. There is so much to do around here, it’s nice to have so many options!

Those pictures are beautiful! Love it!

Thanks! You would love it, except there is NO frugal shopping to be had there!
