I’m so happy to be able to review a Bible from Tommy Nelson. When I handed my daughter this sparkly bible she was thrilled!
She’s only 4 years old, so actually reading the bible is not an option at this point, but she immediately asked me to read it to her!
When I first saw this bible with all this “bling” I didn’t quite understand the need for such a flashy bible. The it hit me.
#1 My daughter got excited just seeing it she immediately wanted me to read it to her. It looks like a fun book so she want’s to know what’s inside. She knows it’s a Bible and understands that. I’m excited to find ways to spend time reading it with her.
#2 – Other girls will want to know about it. Again, Claire is only 4, she probably won’t be carrying this around yet but I know that when she does, her friends will want to know about it. It will give her an opportunity to talk about Jesus! How great is that?
Some other things that I truly love about this Bible are inside. The Sequin Bible is the International Children’s Bible® translation. I love how it reads. This version is simple to read and understand. I think that Claire will enjoy having the bible read to her and she will actually be able to understand it!
At the back of the book there are 3 sections that I really think are great. The Dictionary, Where Do I find It and Memory Verses For My Life.
The Dictionary is a very simple yet clear dictionary of terms, people, and places in the Bible. Where Do I Find it is a great short “concordance” for children. Memory Verses For My Life is my favorite section. I think Claire and I will start to work on memorizing some of these verses. It’s also a great section that I can quickly turn to and find an encouraging verse to share or something to discuss with her.
Today I’m super excited to be able to offer one lucky reader a copy of the Sequin Bible thanks to Tommy Nelson! Just in time for Easter.
