Friday night I convinced my dear friend Rebekah to take a little drive with me down to Baltimore for a great blogging event. She’s a sucker and said yes — After much begging and bribery.
We drove into Baltimore and headed the Load of Fun Studios on North Ave.The studio is home to In Flight Theater, owned by Mara Neimanis who teaches Trapeze art and technique. We were also introduced to two other trapeze artists who demonstrated their skills and shared a little of their story with us.
Mara performed two times for us. Now, I’m not an artist and I’m not all that experienced in theater so watching her performances was a learning experience for me. My favorite – her performance on a custom steel element was truly beautiful. She made it look as though she was as light as a feather – like she was dancing with the elements.
I was really inspired by the two girls who demonstrated some of their talents with us.It was clear that they were doing something they LOVE! They had passion about the art and it was not like “work” for them. It’s inspiring and also an important thing to remember – you can be doing what you LOVE!
The New Blogger:
Next up was Adryon, of Adryon’s Kitchen. Adryon’s story is great – she was basically forced to blog! Yes, her friend actually bought her domain name and pushed her right into the blogging world! When I thought about this today I realized how great it must be to have a friend who sees your gift and gives you a “gentle” push towards success. I really think that’s what her friend did for her. Adryon has only been blogging since April of 2010 and I really think her blog is going to turn outto be one of my must reads! To become a must read you either have to crack me up or teach me something great – her blog does both – she is so stinkin’ funny and her recipes look great! I’m excited to see what she’ll come up with next!
Then there was the food! OH MY!! Pizza was served from Joe Squared!, a MUST if you’re visiting Baltimore – it was delicious. My favorite was the BBQ chicken pizza. Then there was the risotto—- ok.. confession time —– I had 2 very large servings of the risotto, it was THAT good! If we needed something to top it off there were the CUPCAKES! Golden West Cafe provided us with delicious banana cupcakes with a yummy cream cheese frosting. I may or may not have grabbed a second one on the way out… we may never know!
It was so nice to run into 2 friends I first met at Relevant. Kalee (Une Vie Chic) and Ashely (Our Daily Chocolate). I’ve decided that I’m going to take a drive back down to Baltimore so they can show me around the city! How fun!
Did I mention all the amazing goodies I came home with?? Not only did we get great swag bags with Our Daily Chocolate earrings, a necklace (that I love!) from Studio C Jewelry , cute conversation bubble coasters from Batlimore Print Studios, potpourri from Trohv and many other goodies. We will also be receiving a special BlogLove necklace from The Vintage Pearl! I also WON a Gussy Clutch!! What a great way to end a fun night!
As you can imagine it was a great night! One of the highlights of my night was having the opportunity to interview Kristen and Chris Ann the founders of The Love Feast Table. Check back tomorrow to see the interview and be sure to pop over to The Love Feast Table Blog and see what they’re up to!
