Yes, I’m going to write ONE.MORE.POST about planning for Christmas.
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! I enjoyed a weekend with my family. My sister and her family came down from New England for the weekend and my dad spent the weekend on our couch. It would have been even better if my brother had been able to make it. He was stuck working and could not come down. It wasn’t quite the same without him.
I hope you were able to sit back and enjoy Christmas, even if just for a minute. At one point I just sat in our living room surrounded by the sound of playing toddlers, chatting family members and numerous battery-operated toys. Even with the noise and mess I loved it. I loved having our family together. I hope your Christmas was just the way you hoped it would be.
Doing a Christmas Review
Tonight I’ll be taking a look back. Kind of a Christmas review. This year I baked too much and spent way too much time in the kitchen. There are things I want to remember to do again next year and some things that I won’t do next year.
Here are just a few of my Christmas review thoughts:Do a Christmas Ham (easier, less prep time). Don’t bake so many cookies – Have everyone bring 1 type of cookie. Plan to have dad bring cheesecake – cause he’s going to bring one anyway! Layout breakfast foods the night before if possible. Prepare cookie icing the day before for the kids cookie decorating. Participate in Random Acts Of Christmas Kindness
Prepare an Advent Calendar in Summer so it’s ready (don’t wait until winter!) Have extra towels in rooms. Don’t make cranberry bread – nobody ate it.
By taking notes now, while it’s all fresh in my head, I hope to simplify our Christmas planning next year.
