Garden Envy

My husband says I have Garden Envy. We live in beautiful Lancaster County (Amish Country) and every week on our way to church I’m sitting in the car staring out the window at the beautiful gardens along the way. They always look great, perfect rows, lush plants and of course, weed free! I’ve said that I’d love to just pull over someday, knock on their door and ask if they could show me around. Someday I might just do that!

We spent the weekend in CT for my nieces 1st birthday. While we were there we walked around Middletown for a while. I nearly jumped out of my skin when I saw an adorable little community garden. It was great!

They even had a “Thieves Garden” so that people who really wanted to steal something could just take what they wanted! (can’t believe I didn’t get a picture of that!).

Does your community have a public garden? I’d love to hear about it.

Hi there! First off, all this time I have been following your blog I never realized you lived in Lancaster (I should’ve realized that by the photo in your header!) I was born and raised in York County! Anyway, I love going to gardens on plantations and historical homes down here (NC and SC)! They have the cool maps to tell you what is there and always beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

I love community gardens! I don’t know whether our community has one, actually, because we have one here at our house. We’ve literally given away over 30 cucumbers already this summer to neighbors!
